CancerConnect Web Chat with the Expert is an online patient education program that encourages interactive discussions with thought leaders in oncology to help empower patients to make informed treatment decisions and to encourage interaction and engagement within the CancerConnect community. During this 30 to 40 minute program, an expert offers a 10- to 15- minute presentation on a specific topic, after which he or she hosts a question and answer session live via streaming video. Audience members are able to submit questions ahead of time or live, during the presentation. The opportunity to engage directly with experts in the field of oncology during a live presentation is truly unique. Web Chat with the Expert episodes are available on demand for one year.

The Web Chat with the Expert series was launched in the fall of 2011 and has featured experts from Yale, Johns Hopkins, and Memorial Sloan-Kettering cancer centers on topics including complementary and integrative medicine and the role of recent advances in treatment decision making that impact personalized medicine. The Web Chat with the Expert series will continue this year with topics that include optimizing bone health, breast cancer, colorectal cancer, pancreatic cancer, lung cancer, and many others.
