Women Magazine Content Recognized with Award from American Medical Writer’s Association

Fort Worth TX/Sun Valley ID —Women magazine applauds freelance writer Eleanor Mayfield, ELS, a frequent contributor to the publication, who has been awarded the 2013 Eric W. Martin Award for the Public or Health Care Consumer Audience Article for her article, “Myelodysplastic Syndromes,” published in the summer 2012 issue.

Mayfield has been a freelance medical writer and an AMWA member since 1989. Trained as a journalist, she writes extensively about cancer and women’s health issues, as well as about topics ranging from diabetes to substance abuse to long-term care. Her work has twice been recognized with National Institutes of Health Plain Language Awards.
